Consulting
I am available for consulting services in neuroimaging, hypothesis testing, data analytics, and data management, as well as mentorship and guidance for students. Each of these is decribed in greater detail below. If you are interested in learning more about these services or would like to schedule a consultation, please contact me via the email listed in my CV/Resume. I look forward to hearing from you and discussing how we can work together to achieve your research goals.
Neuroimaging
I have over five years of experience working with neural data, specifically functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). I have been involved in handling MRI data for two large NIH funded grants. My experience includes setting up bash scripts to transfer data from MRI lab servers to local servers, setting up quality control checks, writing preprocessing and analytic pipelines in bash, FSL, Nilearn and Python, and converting data to Brain Imaging Data Structure (BIDS). In addition, I have published multiple papers in top neuroimaging journals using fMRI data (see examples A, B, C & D). I currently have a funded NIDA project where I am integrating multiple large imaging datasets.
Given this experience, I am equipped to consult on projects, preprocessing and analytic pipelines that are aligned with your goals.
Hypothesis Testing
I've been engaged in research since 2009, exploring a wide range of topics including ADHD, Aging, EEG, fMRI, Suicide, Chronic Pain, Opioids, Adolescent Development, Substance Use, Reward Processing, and more. You can find specific examples of my work on my Google Scholar page. My training in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience has provided me with a deep understanding of complex psychological and developmental processes, enabling me to tackle intricate questions.
These diverse experiences have equipped me to offer guidance and expertise on various conceptual and theoretical aspects across different subjects. I can lead and provide insights on research topics, whether they involve simple A/B testing or more intricate multi-dimensional problems, all backed by robust hypotheses.
Data Analytics
I have worked with diverse datasets and employing various data analysis methods (For specific examples, please refer to the Research page). Whether you require assistance in condensing your data, conducting hypothesis-driven statistical modeling, or delving into unexplored quantitative challenges, I can provide guidance to your team or take the lead in these tasks to help you attain your objectives.
Data Management
I have worked with data in SPSS, JASPS, R, Python & Excel. These datasets were sometimes small (<500 subjects) in other cases large (>10,000 subjects) that include various continuous and nominal measurements. If you have data and are unsure on how to manage it, I can help provide consultation on getting started and on the right track.
mentorship
If you come from a non-traditional, low SES, non-college educated household (i.e., not familiar with the ropes), one thing that I've learned over the years is that mentorship is essential in succeeding in research and PHD programs. I would be lying if I said I did not benefit from some great mentors and some much needed luck along the way.
Hence, I am typically open to mentoring (i.e., providing consultation) the future generation of researchers and/or PhD applicants (for free, of course!). So we both can confirm whether this will be a beneficial experience, consider your goals/interests and review my work and experience(s). If you are interested in receiving some guidance/mentorship, feel free to reach out with a couple sentence summary synthesizing a) what you're looking for and b) why/how you think I'd be able to help.
